Advance-Quote Savings Calculator
Shopping for car insurance early is a filed discount, not a sales pitch. This calculator uses Progressive's real filed Arizona advance-quote factors - which fall from 1.00 for a same-day quote to 0.87 when you lock the quote 22 or more days ahead (SERFF PRGS-134736377) - to estimate how much locking your quote early trims the liability portion of your premium. Every factor below is a real filed value, and the tool shows its work.
Estimate your advance-quote savings
The advance-quote factor applies to the liability portion of your rate, so the estimate uses the share you enter (30 percent is a common rough split for a full-coverage policy). This compares Progressive's filed Arizona bands for illustration; it is not a quote, and your real price depends on your full rate. To see your actual number, run a real quote.
The filed factors behind this tool
These are the exact values the calculator uses, read from Progressive's Arizona rate manual on file with the state. Each traces to the same regulator filing:

A worked example
Say your annual premium is 1,400 dollars and roughly 30 percent of it - about 420 dollars - is the liability (bodily-injury and property-damage) portion the advance-quote factor touches. Bind the policy the same day and that portion stays near 420 dollars, because the same-day factor is 1.00. Lock the quote 22 or more days ahead and the filed bodily-injury factor of 0.87 brings that portion to about 365 dollars, a saving of roughly 55 dollars created by nothing but timing. At 15 to 21 days the factor is 0.89 (about 46 dollars saved), and at 3 to 7 days it is 0.90 (about 42 dollars). The dollar amounts scale with your own premium and liability share; the ratio - as much as 13 percent off the affected portion - is what carries over.
Frequently asked questions
How much does shopping early actually save?
With Progressive in Arizona, the filed bodily-injury factor falls from 1.00 for a same-day quote to 0.87 when the quote is locked 22 or more days ahead - about 13 percent off the liability portion of the rate. The calculator above turns that into a dollar estimate for your own premium.
Where do the numbers in this calculator come from?
From Progressive Advanced Insurance Company's Arizona personal-auto rate filing, SERFF tracking PRGS-134736377, effective December 19, 2025, Advance Quote Factor Table. They are real filed values, listed in full above, not estimates or market averages.
Why does the tool ask for a liability share?
The advance-quote factor applies to the liability (bodily-injury and property-damage) portion of a premium, not the whole bill, so the estimate applies the factor only to that share. Thirty percent is a common rough split for full coverage; adjust it to match your policy.
How many days early should I lock my quote?
About three weeks. The filed factor reaches its best value, 0.87, at 22 or more advance-shop days. Most of the discount appears within the first day or two, but the maximum lands around three weeks before your policy starts.
Is this a quote?
No. It is an illustration built from one carrier's filed Arizona factors to show the size of the early-shopping effect. Your real price depends on your full rate and every other factor. To see your actual number, run a real quote.
